dc.description.abstract	The historiography of Goa and coastal Karnataka is replete with suggestions to this effect, but they lack analysis of cultural and social relevance of such contacts. In this sense, there is scope to analyze the significance of social relationships that emerged between different communities. This paper contends that traditional texts subtly represent social contacts between different regions.
