dc.description.abstract Considering the perspective of the issuer rather than the investor, this study contributes to IPO literature in general and the IPO survival issue in particular. It is important from the viewpoint of issuers, investors, regulators, and the stock exchange. The article is organized into three sections highlighting the different aspects of the Indian primary markets. The first section provides the background and current scenario of the Indian primary market. The second section presents an empirical study of the survival profile of IPO issuers for the past two decades (1990–2010), and the final section concludes the study.
