dc.description.abstract Analysis of impacts of industrial and mining activities on groundwater regime has been carried out. It is found that mining activities in specific locations have been impacting both shallow groundwater as well as moderately deep groundwater systems. The industrial activity at one site studied has not indicated significant change in groundwater levels during the study period. The geological data indicate that the shallow aquifers located in the peripheral areas of the Plateau region are in continuity with plateau laterites and behave as a single geological unit.
