dc.description.abstract A precursor of aqueous porphyrins i. e. a free-base tetra sodium meso-tetra (psulphonatophenyl) porphyrin (TPPS4) and its corresponding metalloporphyrins (MTPPS4), where M = Ag, Mn and Fe were synthesized and characterized by UV-Visible spectroscopy, Infra red spectroscopy and 1H NMR spectroscopy. Thermal studies of above compounds were carried out using TG-DSC analyzer in synthetic air from room temperature to 800 degrees C. This analysis revealed that these compounds have thermal stabilities up to 400 degrees C. Further, qualitative analysis of the residues has shown the presence of metal oxides, Na2SO4 and coal respectively.
