dc.description.abstract Taxonomic studies on mud crabs (Scylla) reveal considerable ambiguity in species identification owing to overlap of morphological characters. Present study consists a new record of S. olivacea along with a comparative diagnosis with S. serrata from the region. Further, minor phenotypic variations in the present S. olivacea specimens could be attributed to geographical isolation from existing populations. en_US
