dc.description.abstract The mass movement led by Anna Hazare against corruption reflected traditions of civic resistance and civic engagement. Civic resistance and civic engagement are weapons for people who are dissatisfied with the politico-administrative system and its governance. People from many parts of the world have employed civic resistance and civic engagement to put governing mechanism in its proper direction. Anna's movement, as a part of civic engagement with functioning of democratic institutions for greater benefit of the society tried its level best to bring solidarity among citizens for a greater cause. This movement has thrown up a debate on questions associated with corruption such as cynicism among people, approach to fight corruption, moral foundations of the society, supremacy of the people and supremacy of the legislative institution. There took place a serious examination of the content, approach and method of this movement. The present paper examines the different observations made by different scholars regarding its content, approach and method.
