The educational institutions around the world have realized the possibility of using GIS in Geosciences teaching alnog with in many other subjects. GIS is been used in a large number of geoscience applications viz., mapping, mineral and petroleum exploration, structural analyses, hazards management and so on among other many applications. Mapping as an integral activity in any geosciece research. GIS with its map making and analytical capabilities plays an important role in Geoscience teaching. The present paper while discusses the role of GIS in Geoscience education, also portray the ease of using ArcGIS for Geomorphometric study for understanding the geology and geomorphology of small watershed basins specific to Goa, India. |
