dc.description.abstract Mn-doped ZnO nanoparticles prepared by Chemical Bath Deposition (CBD) with substituent fraction ranging from x= 0.01 to x=0.05 are characterized structurally and optically using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), UV-Vis Absorption and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). The unique feature of the sample preparation is the low temperature processing. The band edge shows a red shift on higher doping concentration. FTIR spectra reveal a transition of Mn sup(4+) state to Mn sup(2+) state on increasing doping concentration.
