dc.description.abstract The title of the present paper literally means 'History of Portuguese Colonialism in Goa as reflected in the Works and Letters of the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Centuries.' Through this paper I intend to present the glimpses of Portuguese Colonialism in Goa and its effects on the contemporary socio-religious scenario and the responses from the subjugated natives, clergymen, vassals, emissaries, neighbouring rulers, etc. While doing so this paper also discusses the contribution of the most revered archivist historian of Goa, Dr. Pissurlencar and explores his studies and findings related to the history of colonial Goa. en_US
