dc.description.abstract Utilization of chemical growth regulators of plant origin has heralded a new era in improving agricultural crops both quantitatively and qualitatively. Though many of the growth regulators are proved to be toxic at higher concentration, at low concentrations, they have been found to induce improvement significantly. Gibberellic acid, the most popular member of about 52 known members of gibberellin group has been tested for its ability to improve yield in silkworm Bombyx mori L. The growth regulator at a low concentration was administered to the eggs; topical application at III and V instar stages and oral feeding from III instar to spinning stage. To study racial difference with regard to the response if any, multivoltine Pure Mysore and bivoltine.
