dc.description.abstract During our studies on the taxonomy and diversity of microfungi occurring in association with the plant species of Western Ghat forests in southern India two new hyphomycetous fungi were recovered in culture when litter of Caryota urens Linn., and Flacourtia montana (Burm.f.) Merril and subjected to 'particle-plating isolation technique' (Bills and Polishook). These new taxa are described and illustrated.
