dc.description.abstract Bridging the gap between the requirements of the burgeoning industrial sector for the skilled human resource and the constraint of the education sector in India in meeting to these needs is a matter of concern. Failure in resolving the issue could lead to under utilization of human resource and foregoing the rich demographic dividend. The Department of Management Studies, Goa University, jointly with Goa Management Association (GMA), took the lead to organize a workshop to bring about a dialogue between Academia (i.e. Institutes of Management Studies/ Engineering Institutes in Goa) and Senior Managers of a cross-section of high employment potential Industries. This chapter outlines the discussions and the road-map ahead for fruitful interface between the Industry and the Academia with greater goal of producing globally employable human resource. Hence, we use the 'focus group' technique for researching the issue of the requisites of making the education system compatible with global standards.
