dc.description.abstract An assessment of mycorrhizal association in 29 naturally occurring herbaceous plant species belonging to 26 genera and distributed among 16 families collected from a 12 year old iron ore mine reject dump was made. It was observed that all the plant species showed mycorrhizal infection. The mycorrhizal infection varied from 10 percent to 98 percent in the different species. Plants exhibiting mycorrhizal infection had typical vesicular or arbuscular and inter- and intra-cellular hyphal infection. en_US
