The purpose of study is to discuss the site selection mode Taiwan cruise ports in Taiwan, and further proposes the most appropriate site selection conditions for developing cruise port cities. For the cruise ship market in the Asia-Pacific region, this study adopts the Analytic Hierarchy Process AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method to analyze the location selection of the cruise port, taking the international cruise industry, Taiwan travel industry and experts and scholars as the research object. Based on the results, this study found that the "cruise industrial environment", is the most significant measure for Taiwan's development of site selection strategy of cruise ports, followed by “site transportation conditions" and "facilities and services of the port". Evaluation criterions were applied to understand the advantages and disadvantages of the four major cruise ports in Taiwan. The results showed that Kaohsiung Port is the most preferable cruise po rt in Taiwan among all selections, followed by Keelung Port, Hualien Port, and Taichung Port. Finally, suggestions are proposed to improve Kaohsiung Port and Keelung Port as the preferable cruise ports in Taiwan. |
