dc.description.abstract This paper endeavours to measure technical efficiencies of primary dairy milk co-operatives societies using the non-parametric technique of data envelopment analysis. The study considers 90 dairy milk co- operatives out of 176 in the State of Goa for the period 2000-01 to 2014-15. The study reveals that efficiency of 63 primary dairy co-operative societies has improved or maintains during the study period. Further, out of 90 primary dairy co-operative societies under study 24 dairy societies has fails to gain efficiency or has loss efficiency and out of 24 dairy co-operatives 13 dairy co-operative societies has suffers substantial loss in CRS efficiency of more than -0.1. The study concludes that there is improvement in the TE CRS over the period under study from 0.574 in 2000-01 to 0.707 in 2014-15. This indicates over the period under study technical efficiency has improved over the period. en_US
