Abstract:
In view of aiding the frequent monitoring of glucose for people leaving diabetes we need to develop methods which are cheap, portable and less intimidating to the patient as compared to the traditional methods. We propose a system which non-invasively predicts the glucose concentrations using visible fixed weavelength electromagnetic radiation. To achieve this, we use a probe housing consisting of visible LEDs and a silicon detector. The laboratory samples consisting of varying glucose concentration is placed between the probe. The detected signal by the silicon detector will be sent conditioning of the incoming signal. The absorbance will be calculated by processing the signal on a NIOS-II embedded soft-core created on a FPGA. The glucose concentration corresponding to the input will be displayed on a display.
