dc.description.abstract Student that is sufficiently involved in the learning process usually shows higher performance with respect to the objectives set for the process. Of course, this requires alignment of the instructional strategy with the objectives so that a student is lead on to the path to reach the optimal performance. This is true even for minuscule unit of learning concept and requires careful planning. However, when the framework is meticulously planned for every activity carried out in the learning process, the focus is on student's engagement in the tasks being executed. Student engagement is important and beneficial not only for student's academic efficacy, learning and achievement, but also for his socialization, welfare, satisfaction with life and effective learning. This paper focuses on investigating the relationship between response time, engagement and the performance of the students as a part of larger research work that aims at devising a technique of identifying engagement within an on-line learning environment. en_US
