Abstract:

Common human pathogens are exhibiting resistance to antibiotics. Acanthus ilicifolius is a mangrove associate with rich fungal and bacterial endophytes that contain biologically active compounds. The potential use of endophytic bacteria isolated from A. ilicifolius to inhibit human pathogenic bacteria, especially Gram-positive bacteria is envisaged.
