Comments on the paper "Crystallization of inorganic nonlinear optical zinc di-magnesium chloro sulphate (ZDMCS) single crystal"

Abstract

The authors of the title paper (Optics & Laser Tech 88 (2017) 147-151) claim to have grown a so-called inorganic nonlinear optical zinc di-magnesium chloro sulphate (ZDMCS) single crystal formulated as Zn 2(MgCl sub(2)) SO sub(4). A critical analysis of the title paper is presented to show that the reported experimental data are not in agreement with the proposed formula of ZDMCS. In this letter to Editor, we prove that ZDMCS is in fact, the well-known crystal magnesium sulphate hexahydrate having formula MgSO sub(4).6H sub(2) O.
