Abstract:

A new method to synthesise Tetraester-substituted tetraaryl-1, 4-dihydropyrrolo [3,2-b] pyrroles (TAPP) using molecular iodine as catalyst has been reported. The detailed mechanism of synthesis of TAPP has been elucidated.
