dc.description.abstract	A remote village in Goa was facing economic challenges due to a mining ban, despite its rich biodiversity, ethnic culture and potential for tourism. Environmentalist Parag Rangnekar recognized the potential for rural tourism and, with the Mineral Social Foundation of Goa, spearheaded a sustainable project called 'Aangan'. Initially successful, it empowered the community through participatory tourism and homestay initiatives. However, internal conflicts, government policies and the COVID-19 pandemic led to a collapse by 2021. Now, Parag is at a crossroads, seeking ways to reignite community involvement and overcome challenges to revitalize Aangan's success.	en_US
