dc.description.abstract This study examines the multifaceted contributions of Manohar Rai Sardessai to Goan literature, focusing on his role as a cultural hybrid navigating the complexities of identity in postcolonial Goa. By analysing selected poetry, translations, and scholarly works, the research highlights Sardessai's engagement with social justice, environmental consciousness, and linguistic advocacy. His translations of world literature into Konkani are particularly emphasized for their role in enriching the regional literary landscape and fostering cultural dialogue. Additionally, the examination of Sardessai's reviews and critiques reveals his support for contemporary Goan authors and his commitment to addressing societal inequities. By situating Sardessai within the broader discourse of Goan identity and heritage, this paper affirms his relevance in contemporary literary studies and the articulation of Goan cultural identity. en_US
