Abstract:
The upsurge of socio-economic activity in Goa following its liberation from Portuguese resulted in an enormous growth in construction activity in the state. This led to a massive influx of migrant workers in the construction sector in Goa. The paper presents a socio-economic profile of migrant workers engaged in construction activity in Goa, and analyses the impact of those workers on the Goan economy.
